Put your dancing shoes on and come a funky ride! A groovin’ bass line, funk guitars, and straight forward percussions are waiting for you. I wrote this track last week and arranged it this weekend – in a freaky night session. Hope you have as much fun listening to it as I had with producing it. The track will be released on the 7 Years Global Ritmico Sampler, available in stores in july 2012.
I ran now several times into the problem, that I wanted to use a rex loop in Dr.OctoRex in Reason 6, but didn’t want to replay it note by note on the keyboard or, to define better my problem, to loose tiny variations which are not totally quantized. So, Dr.OctoRex offers for that a solution – the ‘COPY LOOP TO TRACK’ function, but since this function sets all velocity levels to a value of 64 I had no possibility to change the velocity level or to gain control over it after copying to track. According to the Reason Help there is no solution for that.
Here is my simple workaround to gain control back over the velocity level and to keep all not quantized fractions of a rex loop: Read more →
I just finished the cover for the Ladykiller EP from Telefunk. The images used for the cover were heavily modified to get this 60s look. The dirt on the wall was added for some perspective and to set some accents. I have used a clean handwriting font for the title and the note about the remixes. The black batch in the top left was added to highlight the spot and to change the reading direction. The cover would have been really empty without that detail. Hope you like it!
The EP will be available in stores end of may 2012.

Finally I had the time to switch to a new website theme. I’m not quite ready with setting everything up, but the advantage of the new theme is that it is mobile ready.
With switching to the new theme I took myself also the time to design a new logo for myself. So basically I made a complete redesign, switched to a new technical basis and to a new identity. Well, since this is a pretty big step forward, I thought it might be good to work on my portfolio too – which has been suffering from no updates quite a while now. So be prepared for more to come.
